‘Black Ink’

In this deeply emotional ballad, “Black Ink” explores the turbulent path between regret and yearning for innocence. With lyrics that reflect a battle between regret and the desire to reclaim a simpler time, this song pulls listeners into a world where the weight of the past cannot be forgotten, but a glimmer of hope and redemption still shines through.

Elephant Ears masterfully captures the emotional rawness of the human experience, inviting listeners to confront their own stories and reflect on the innocence they’ve lost. Featuring powerful vocals from Dom Durner and an incredible line up of players including Giulo Romano Malaisi, “Black ink” is an introspective journey into the heart of vulnerability and resilience.

This track marks Elephant Ears' second release of the year, following the success of his comeback single “Learning to Say Goodbye” after a 25-year hiatus due to burnout. “Learning to Say Goodbye” has already garnered over 700K streams and hundreds of radio plays in just 7 months, and Elephant Ears is excited to share this new chapter with you now.

‘Learning to Say Goodbye’

Cowritten with Emmy Award winner songwriter Andrew Rollins, this song acknowledges the process of letting someone's struggles in life go. Described by some listeners as moving, powerful, or simply gorgeous, it will be my first original song release since 1999. Back then, I gave up making original music after experiencing burnout and I thought I would never play music again. This will also mark the debut release of the powerful voice of Bressi Soul as the featured singer on the song.

“This song is really beautiful, I love the singer’s voice, it’s gorgeous. What a great arrangement on a beautiful song, it’s so easy to go really thick with strings and as a player I really appreciate that you’ve done such delicate and light touches with the string arrangement”.
